subject: BlueWave in Linux/DOSBOX

I have a new little computer for travel (Asus EeePC) which has a
version of Linux on it (Xandros). I am trying to get BlueWave to
work there using a DOS emulator called DOSBOX, and am almost
successful. There is one problem that perplexes me -- and folks on
  the DOSBOX forum.

If I open a QWK packet, read messages, and change the marks on those
messages, the changes get recorded in a file called OWL.XTI (QWK
packet is OWL.QWK -- and it is unpacked into a WORK directory).
When BlueWave finishes, it is supposed to update that file. When I
run BlueWave on my XP machine in a NTVDM (virtual Dos) window -- that
works the way it should. However, when I run Bluewave using DOSBOX
what happens is that when Bluewave places the call to pkzip, the
OWL.XTI file has disappeared. This happens both on the linux machine
and in DOSBOX on the XP machine. I have confirmed this using a batch
which does a DIR on the WORK directory. The other files are there,
but the OWL.XTI file is gone.

In this case, the call to pkzip has the parameters of OWL.QWK (with
full path to where the file is) and WORK\OWL.XTI (again with full path
to that file) -- but a DIR on WORK confirms the XTI file is gone.

If I have deleted some messages, then the call by BlueWave to pkzip
has parameters of OWL.QWK (full path) and WORK\*.* (also full path).
In that case, the OWL.XTI file is still in the WORK directory, along
with all the other files that get packed up into the OWL.QWK.

I suppose that I could learn to live with not updating marks (read, S,
P, etc) on messages -- but worry what else might be acting strange.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any experience?

I have tried using another emulator called DOSEMU -- but it does not
allow me to send CTRL- or ALT- keystrokes to Bluewave.
