I remember reading somewhere that it wasn't good practise to nest a
switch() statement within another.  I don't know if it is correct, or
whether I actually did read it, though.  So you might as well ignore what
I'm saying here.

BTW, nested switch()es are pretty rare anyway, and you can always fix them
up later on if indent stuffs them up.  ;-)
