 >>> Dennis Menard on Quebec
 WE> No but it wants to refuse education to children of illegal immigrants.
 DM> In Quebec, non-English-speaking immigrants are denied admittance to
 DM> English schools; sometimes, even English-speaking immigrants.
 DM> Democracy?
Why not, don't you have to speak English to benefit from an English school?
But why English speaking immigrants? English flap? Isn't Quebec on a French
flap? 'Press 1 for service in French, 2 for service in English.' English
translation given after the French translation. That's my experience with
companies in Quebec. So I press two and inquire, '?Hablas es Espaniol,
Senor?' -)
 DM> I'll be applying for citizenship in New Zealand. :)
In a warm country like that you'd melt. -)

 DM> We have health-food stores ... no co-ops, though. Please, keep in
 DM> mind that what I describe applies to  area (the Yukon, 60d+N lat);
Gosh, I bet apples are a dollar each and this time of year fresh vegetables
are a dream. But wait, isn't this the land that grows huge cabbages? What
else? Elk, natural organic food. Gosh I don't know how I'd survive in the
Yukon. Had occasion to talk to a vegetarian who visited a friend for a work
jog. It lasted a week or so and vitals were elk. He had little trouble
shifting gears. Oh well, good neighbors in the North is more important than
the right religion.
 DM> And we can't really be compared to Alaska, either;
 DM> our only coastline is the Arctic coast and costs by air, truck are not
 DM> inexpensive (ie, large concern). :)
Hm, you're closer to the US, than I am in Portland Ore. Just a hop over the
Elias mountains in stead of a long boring freeway drive. -)
This
 DM> morning, New Year's Day, it's -34 C, and dropping, although we're told
 DM> to expect it to warm up by the weekend ... and that's tomorrow! :)
 DM> It's exhilarating weather for cross-country skiing and ski-dooing and
 DM> winter camping
Hm, about -30 F. Is this cold enuf for your spit to crack?
 DM> ... I'd change the world but I can't find the source code.
... Give me a place to speak and I will move the world.
