Though there is a biological parallel for the idea that newer religious
belief systems may be more dangerous than older ones: Diseases that have
infected humanity for a longer time tend to (unless they spend part of
their life cycles in other species) be selected to be less virulent. Newer
religions may for similar reasons be more dangerous on average.
