It's just the look, for me. And the bright yellow. Being a
Northwesterner born and bred, daffodils are the ultimate in
harbingers of spring. (We even have a Daffodil Festival in the
spring, with Daffodil Princesses and a Daffodil Queen from the
local high schools.)

And, as I live in an apartment (well, condo, but still), the
potted variety are all I can do.
