| subject: | Re: Co-President Cheney |
-> "Almost immediately after taking office, Vice President Cheney began -> meeting with more than 100 oil executives, compiling a wish list of -> things they wanted," Olbermann expounded. "One thing the industry did -> not want was mandatory acoustic switches, which can shut wells -> remotely when blowout Keith Olbermann is your source of this insight?? Ha ha ha! If the meetings were secret, how does he know that there was a "wish list" rather than simply a discussion of energy policy? How does he know that acoustic switches even CAME UP in the meetings? How does he know that the industry opposed them? Heck, they were already using them voluntarily in various places around the world. -> But it reversed a Clinton era decision requiring the essential -> acoustic backups, calling them too costly There was no such requirement. And to be more complete, the independent report commissioned by the government found that they were NOT "essential," and that they were costly, unreliable, and redundant. But you just keep believing what Keith Olbermann says, even if he cannot back it up with facts. --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 10* Origin: (1:226/600) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 848 @PATH: 226/600 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
