  Hi Ed,
  We have a commshare device on our business line in our home based word 
processing business.  I call into it all the time.  I have never heard any 
"beeps" from the commshare device.  There is no noticeable delay caused by 
the device that I can tell.  The only difference on the caller's end is the 
ring tone changes after the first ring.  
  We are very happy with the performance of the device, and it has saved us 
the cost of another phone line for the last three years.
