I agree there is room for discussion, but I can't think of any examples.
I know I have occassionally seen good movies where I thought more
explicit sex would actually have been a boone - but again I can't
remember any examples right off hand.
On the other hand, that long "bed crawl" between Donald Sutherland and
Julie Christie in DON'T LOOK NOW, did absolutely nothing for the movie.
Sometimes I think the directors must arrive on set hard up and stick
this stuff in just for a little personal gratification.
