char *p = (char *) 0xb8000;

That's for Watcom & DOS4GW. I get a core dump if I try to access data
pointed to by p with an EMX program running under DOS:

process 2 get hardware fault 13 (general protection) at 1004D
writing core file

Process terminated by SIGSEGV

I think I need to access a DOSX selector or something, but don't have any
details about EMX's DOS extender. (shrug)
