So un-natural?   If you want to take a bird outdoors a flight suit or
harness is a good alternative to cuting off their wing feathers.  With
clipping they can't get the exercise and joy of flying at all, even
indoors.  Harnesses and suits are better than leg straps which can
potentially cause injury.   My Scarlet doesn't doesn't particularly like
having a harness put on, but once it's in place she very much enjoys
hiking in the mountains with me.

Birds can be better companions then human children.  I raised children
when I was younger.
