| subject: | Help with new parakeet |
I got a female parakeet last night. She's surprisingly tame already. I know she is still adjusting to her new cage, but I have yet to see her eat. Of course, this doesn't mean she hasn't but I'd like to make sure I have proper dishes. For food I have this (using the vertical bar one, but also have the large): http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=6227&N=2003+2012 For water I have this (I also laid out a standard cup feeder full of water just in case): http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=6227&N=2003+2012 I prefer these kinds of feeders so I can more easily monitor how much food is remaining and not worry about discarded food mixing in with the new. I have a cuttle bone in there as well as 2 toys that hang, one being wood/rope and the other a metal wire ball that can hold treats. She just doesnt seem to move around much. How long would you say the adjustment period is?
