I certainly did, any way. I thought they were hilarious. (I'm in British
Columbia, Canada.) I find a little fun, levity, a sense of humour is
valuable in the workplace. Not only does it defuse the anger of disappointed
clients, it helps make happy clients and helps make them loyal. It also
keeps the employees happy. I find cheerful employees create a friendly
atmosphere for the clients without my needing to tell them to watch their
tone of voice, plus productivity goes up if people enjoy their work. I
rarely have any of the people I hire working with me at the house - they work
in their own homes (with fax machines, modems, and call transfer there's
little need for people to come to my house to work with/for me) so I can't
stand over them and make sure they're doing things the way I want them done.
I find that humour is the cement that keeps it all running smoothly by remote
control.
