It's one of those figs that does well down here in the south.  You see 
figs, as a genus, comes from the middle east where its hot but dry.  The figs 
that we can grow down here have been specially bred to accept and live 
through the wet.  
    I'd be glad to come and see the tree.  It's probably like the one that 
our neighbor across the street has.
