That description of the gear positions helps - thanks. I have my copy of the
new Av Week that has the interesting article of the fuel tank situation with
drawings. I had no idea that the center tank has a 12,800 gallon capacity.
This article indicates there is some feeling that another tank first exploded
and that triggered the center tank. Immediately after TO, wouldn't all the
other tanks be full with little or no space for vapors? The B747 that was
flown today to duplicate the TWA 800 trip has 150 sensors to record the
various parameters on tO> Inciodently, I have found out how to get direct
access to the NTSB reports via the confuzer, also FAA records.
