| subject: | Criminal? U R Really Nutz |
On 05-29-10, MARK LEWIS said to TIM RICHARDSON: TR> I'm having a hard time squaring your `crippled for LIFE' claim with TR> you kicking in someone's door to illegally enter their dwelling. TR> How did you manage to `kick in the door' in your crippled for LIFE TR> condition? ML>apparently you don't know any ambulatory cripples, tim... one of my best ML>friends is a cripple thanks to someone else's stupidity... yet, my friend ML>doesn't have to take any medications for his problem nor is he bedridden ML>or wheelchair bound... in fact, he can walk and run and climb pretty much ML>just like anyone else who isn't crippled... his prosthetic leg isn't even ML>noticible unless he in shorts... Then he is *not* cripple! ML>there are many folk who are crippled and deal with pain on a daily basis ML>who can and do still get up and do what they can... sure, it may hurt ML>while doing it but they can and do do it anyway... afterwards, then they ML>deal with the pain how they have to... Then they are *not* cripples! *Cripple* isn't just a physical condition......it is a state of mind! People with far worse conditions than Chirnside or Sauer constantly complain of, go to work every day, support themselves, do their own heavy work around their own homes, and lead normal lives. They do not constantly whine and complain about how much pain they are in, or trot their sad tale of pain and suffering out at every opportunity. I drive a transport bus five days a week. I carry mentally and physically handicapped people to and from their day programs. With the exception of two facilities, all of the day programs involve a work environment through a program called Partners With Industry. It involves tasks that would ordinarily be too expensive for an industry to have done at their own factory. These people do those tasks, and do it five days a week, just like an ordinary working person. I see people at the two work-travel times five days a week. My route is over a hundred miles a day, morning and afternoon. I see people standing at the trolley stations I pass, that are wheelchair- bound, on their way to WORK! I see people who are having to walk with canes, even walkers, on their way to WORK! I see people in WORK situations that are far worse off than Whiney Wayne Chirnside, or Otto `Headaches' Sauer. I'm 69 years old, and have a few physical challenges of my own that are related to the aging process, not to mention some of the heavy labor employment I engaged in during my working life (worked in steel mills, rebar plants, worked on the railroad, a shipyard, on asphalt crews, etc etc). But I WORK! for a living, six days a week! And you don't see me in here or anywhere else, constantly whining and complaining about the pain I'm in. My job involves climbing in and out of a vehicle to tend to loading and unloading passengers who aren't exactly all that coordinated. Another part of my job involves a lot of walking. The only part of my job that involves sitting for any real length of time is when I am at one of my employer's board and care's to run the house for the day on Saturday. By the way....I plan on WORKING till I'm about 72. *Cripple* is not always just a physical condition, its in large part *mental*! If you *think* you are crippled, and you have convinced yourself of it... ..you *will* be crippled! If you *think* you can lead as normal a life as possible, and reach to the outer limits of your physical capability, have no mental hangup about your physical pain or limitations, ignore the cacophany of woe-bearers who constantly hammer on their pain and suffering, you *will* have a normal life! ML>so what? are you that damned ignorant? Get a life! --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 848 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
