They do list it as released under the GNU public license though so if that is all the concern is then it is covered. I would hazard a guess that it will stay that way since Linux is far too different from the currently supported OS's for a straight port of the existing code to be a trivial matter. It would be far easier to just start from scratch. That's my slant on it for what it's worth.
