| subject: | Classic areafix in BBBS? |
Hi Andrey! > Is classical areafix (without regexps) possible in BBBS? Yes, it is possible - but probably not a good idea :) :) BBBS use REGEXP (regular expressions) and the areafix manages both the File Echos and the Message Echos.. so if you do not use the BBBS keywords (file and echo), and if you do not use regexp ^ (starts with) and $ (ends with), you will be connected to many areas you don't really want! For Example: ===========cut here ======example netmail to areafix==== To: areafix 1:261/38 Subj: your-password file +^NODELIST$ echo +^FIDONEWS$ ===========cut here==== end example==== So in the example above, the only file echo you should be connected to is NODELIST (the Zone 1 nodelist) and not INODELST, or NODEDIFF, or XOFCELIST. Without the keywords file and echo, bbbs will connect you to all the areas with those letters in them, whether they are file echos or msg. echos. This is the help for bbbs' areafix: ======== cut here=============== Address the message to AreaFix or BRoboCop. Enter your areafix password into subject line. In subject line after your password... -h Gives this help -l Gives list of all areas available for you -q Gives list of linked areas available for you -u Gives list of unlinked areas available for you In message text... %help Gives this help %list Gives list of all areas available for you %query Gives list of linked areas available for you %unlinked Gives list of unlinked areas available for you +arearegexp Connect to file or echo area(s) -arearegexp Disconnect file or echo area(s) file +arearegexp Connect to file area(s) file -arearegexp Disconnect file area(s) echo +arearegexp Connect to echo area(s) echo -arearegexp Disconnect echo area(s) Write only one command per line. Arearegexp "%all" will be expanded to "." or "everything". ==============cut here======== If anyone wants a file that explains regexp, just let me know and I'll send it to you :) Take care, Janis --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 261/38 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
