That may not be the case at all. I re-manufacture toner cartridges...and for
years HP told the world that using a re-manufactured cartridge would void the
warrenty.
After lots of activity by the rechargers, and some interesting legal
ctivity,
HP stopping telling folks that remanufactured cartridges would either damage
their laser printers, or void their warranty.
You might want to get a formal statement from HP saying that the warranty
will be void...and then ask the recharger manufacturer if they will repair,
pay for repairs, or replace the printer if the recharged cart truly damages
the printer.
While it may sound far-fetched, that's how the toner cartridge manufacturers
stopped HP from killing off an entire industry.
