Which corporate cronies?
During the 1930's, large corporate farms were owned by big business, and
you just *KNOW* how pro-Roosevelt big business was at that time.
(sarcasm off)
But as I said, the program is outmoded.
RS>> Nowadays most farms are coporate owned, and family farms are in
EH> the RS> minority.
RS>> And if a business, which is what a farm is, a business, *HAS* to

EH> I have no problem with ending them. Here's a clue; it's all about
EH> control and being able to manipulate the market.
I know.
Dairy farms here in Wisconsin get government price controls on milk and
milk products.
It used to even be illegal here in Wisconsin to sell margarine!
RS>> Yet it's *REPUBLICANS* (like Charles Grassley of Iowa) who yell
EH> the RS> loudest if farm subsidies are proposed to be cut, much less
EH> ended.
EH> Then, why didn't the Democrats vote them out of existence sometime
EH> since 2007? They have had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate
EH> and a huge majority in the House. You continuously point at Repubs,
EH> yet you ignore the Dems who do the same.
Because they are just as much in the pocket of large corporate farmers
as the republicans are.
Example: Senator Herb Kohl-D has received millions from corporate dairy
farms.
Just as the North Carolina political establishment is owned by the huge
pig farms and tobacco farms.
And Florida's politics are owned by big citrus growers.
Doesn't make a damn bit of difference the party, or state.
That's why farm subsidies will never be ended.
