Yep.  Also, from a Linux user's percpective, telnet in a regular Linux
console works as well and is a sight to behold.  Maximus never looked so
good as it does in a Linux console.  What that brings to the table is that
no extra client programs are required on a Linux box.  Windows can't do
that.  :-)

I don't know.  It isn't an option here.  This is pure Linux and tcpip
networking here.  If it can't work with this setup it is highly unlikely. 
Besides it is too much work for just one node that may not go in that
direction anyhow.  Personally I'd much rather be a user then a sysop.

From my readings of the source much needs to be changed or dropped
completely.  Not an easy task.
