Yes, they have 2 forms of writing.  Kanji and Katagana I think they are? One
looks like chinese box pics a bit and the other reminds me a tiny bit of
arabic.

Not for me either again ;-(  Love to go to Asia again but if I did, Hong Kong
or Thailand would be my choices for vacation spots.
