Dale, top of the morning to you !
First, Dale, I have to thank you for BWRF, it kept me going on
BW for all these years, until Richard came along and would ahve
kept me going anyway. I think that his fix is more to the point
and yours was a valid circumvention of the Y2K bug.
DS> There are a couple of differences. When you are using my
DS> wrap-around program, the date times on your replies are mangled
DS> *WHILE* you are reading them in your reply packet.
Yes, I had noticed this before as your .txt had mentioned it.
It was no problem if one kept in mind that the closing of the .rep
would see this corrected. It did.
DS> Also, when you finally upload your reply messages to the BBS, they
DS> will have a date/time based on when you last closed that REP packet
DS> *and* each reply will have a time which is one minute after the
DS> previous one.
Smart ! I had never noticed this.
DS> In this packet you had three messages in this echo. The time stamp
DS> between the first and second was two minutes. Hence I don't think
DS> you were using my wrap-around program.
Let me state again : Smart ! I am so remote from programming
that my mind does not see these. I went to Richard's solution more
or less as a curiousity. The end result is the same for the
average user. My hat is off to both of you.
... No matter what, no NNTP.
... Telnet is great !
