CM> Yeah Karolina , bet here is the kicker! All of the taxes we now
CM> are paying did not come about untill the 1930's ...............
CM> Go back and read a little history and you'll find inflation and
CM> all this other stuff was non-existent . Remember the 3 cent stamp?
Charles, do you also remember the 25 cent per hour wage, and the great
depression? Think about this too, the stock market crash of 1929 (which
triggered the Great Deression) was only 13%. Half that now is an average
swing on the stock market today.
Many of the things you take for granted now, came about because of the
economic expansion of the 1950's, and has been paid for by these taxes, (like
the R&D in Medicine, nutrition, etc.).
We can always look back and long for the better times, but what price are we
willing to pay to get them back? Would you give up your car, or house, to
return to the 1920's tax status? Would you prefer to drive from work to
school on city streets, many of which would not even be paved? Or would you
walk in the snow and rain as most would have to in the winter months?
