The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress ... and elsewhere in that same novel he makes the
point, more than once about protecting children. If you got from a statement
about paying for the air you breath in a location where it is not supplied by
nature to being able to "stand by and watch a child die and not believe anyone
was obligated to do anything" then I am not following your logic or thought
processes at all.

I don't give up any book voluntarily unless it is something that I will *NEVER*
re-read.

I gave up on Ms Norton back in the 1960s. There is much better fantasy (such as
by Esther Friesner) available for my money. Cliffie Simak and several others of
the "Golden Age of Pulp Sci-Fi" are keepers. But, a lot of that era is best
used for landfill and erosion control.  Bv)=
