BK> I don't recall which book but he had a discussion of paying tax BK> for air in a moon city. His attitude was, apparently, if you can BK> pay for the air you don't get to breathe it. The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress ... and elsewhere in that same novel he makes the point, more than once about protecting children. If you got from a statement about paying for the air you breath in a location where it is not supplied by nature to being able to "stand by and watch a child die and not believe anyone was obligated to do anything" then I am not following your logic or thought processes at all. DD> Most of the time you make sense in your postings. But, not DD> in this one. BK> I have read just aboutg everything of Heinlein's. Though I'm not BK> as fanatical as my brother, who will *NOT* give up a Heinlein BK> book. I gave most of mine to the library. I don't give up any book voluntarily unless it is something that I will *NEVER* re-read. BK> Simack, Norton, and a few others I keep. Of course, Douglas BK> Adams, but he only wrote one trilogy of any significance. Though BK> the fifth book of the trilogy it's best if we pretend it never BK> happened. I gave up on Ms Norton back in the 1960s. There is much better fantasy (such as by Esther Friesner) available for my money. Cliffie Simak and several others of the "Golden Age of Pulp Sci-Fi" are keepers. But, a lot of that era is best used for landfill and erosion control. Bv)= ENJOY!!!
