BK> Tell that to the South Park and Homer Simpson fans.
Not to mention all the humor in some cartoons that would sail over the
kiddies and the right-wingers' heads.
Just watch the MGM Tex Avery cartoons.
Like this one:

The problem is there is some really dreadful animation out there.
South Park isn't much more than fart jokes and crappy animation.
The writing for the Simpsons can vary a lot, from season to season.
This is nothing new, of course.
During the time of WB and MGM having Chuck Jones and Tex Avery, there
was Terrytoons. (Ick.)
Hanna-Barbera dominated TV animation during the 60's and 70's, with
their el-cheapo crap.
The 80's had half-hour toy ads.
The 90's had "Beavis and Butthead." (They're making new episodes for
that.)
