BA> TR> If the person pays the percentage on what the IRS says is
BA> TR> `income', that the IRS says is what they owe......where do you
BA> TR> or the lefty democrats have anything to complain about as to
BA> TR> what they paid?

BA> TR> One of the biggest problems this country has is the burden of
BA> TR> taxes laid on it. That, along with the outrageous demands from
BA> TR> unions for more and more benefits, have driven people either to
BA> TR> foreign countries to produce, or out of business altogether.

BA> TR> The democrats are slowly changing the American Dream from
BA> TR> succeeding and becoming wealthy.....to the more you succeed, the
BA> TR> less you'll keep.

BA>When I talked with her yesterday my sister reminded me that the left
BA>in this country
BA>is making noises about eliminating the tax deduction for home
BA>mortgage interest. If
BA>that happens this country will see a wave of foreclosures and home
BA>abandonmnents
BA>greater than anyone thinks possible. Wonder what Fannie and Freddie
BA>are going to do
BA>with all those empty houses - they sure won't be able to sell them.

We aren't dealing with smart people. We are dealing with socialists. A
VAT tax would have the same impact. The only difference is that the
pain would take a little longer to be felt. The wrong questions and
debates are being had. The real questions should be:

What is the efficiency of the government and how can it be improved ?
What is the right size of government for us ?
Do we really need the US government to consume over $3T of the economy ?
If $3T a year isn't enough, how much is ?
How much economic activity is generated from $1 in tax cuts vs. $1 in
government spending ?

We are letting the left shape the debate into a class warfare argument.
