Eric...
EH{at}> I don't understand why someone would be against the no-code test. I was
EH{at}> a no code tech, and then I passed my General, but could not get passed
EH{at}> the code part, so I stayed a no-code tech until the requirement for the
EH{at}> code was dropped. I re-tested and passed (again), and now I am studying
EH{at}> for my Extra class. Would you rather let the hobby languish and
EH{at}> disappear than be invigorated with new hams? besides, most new hams I
EH{at}> have heard on the air, are much more appreciative of the privileges
EH{at}> that the so called 'original' hams.
People are learning the Morse Code now because they WANT to...NOT because
they HAVE to. I understand in the weeks surrounding the removal of the CW
requirement for U.S. Ham Radio Licenses, Vibroplex couldn't keep up with the
demand for CW keyers.
