I think you are recalling the conversations about the Sudbury Valley
School. There have been several articles published about this school
that claim it is quite successful. At least for some of its students.
All in all, I find it an intriguing notion. I wouldn't mind to work, at
least for a couple of years, at a school like that. I'd like to see how
it worked. I'd like to see how much the average kid learned, how
motivated they were, etc...
But I DON'T see it as feasible that we could operate our entire nation's
school systems like this. There are too many for whom it would not work.
