Hi Kathy!
-=> Quoting Kathy Oganezov to Wendy Buchanan <=-
KO> Oh, there you are! It's so nice to "see" you again!!! :)
Thanks, nice to see you, too!
KO> Send 'em oxygen? Or is it too late? ;> Naw, ya'll ought to know by
KO> now that, if I give a date for mailing stuff, it will never make it
KO> - dunno why... "schtuff" happens.
I seem to remember something of that from "before..."
KO> I've made one before - for Elmo's big sister. All the boys had their
"Elmo?" C'mon, I've been off here for 4 months, you have to
give me more information than that!
KO> own "boy" baptism outfits - DH wouldn't go for a baptism dress on any
KO> of his sons! This one is just a simple pattern from Butterick:
I didn't think there was such a thing as a "simple pattern" from them!
I've never been able to sew a thing from their patterns, the pages of
instructions were written in a language for people who could really
*sew*, and I can't figure them out!
Men don't go for dresses on boys, no! Even if you put on blue ribbons!
KO> requisite extra-long skirt gathered to a yoke. I embellished &
KO> changed everything, OC, but it looks pretty much like it should.
It sounds lovely!
KO> you tell I have 4 boys? I tend to go crazy when sewing girl stuff! :)
It's fun, though, isn't it? My mother really wishes she'd been
blessed with a baby granddaughter, so she could have sewn her some
frilly clothes. The only granddaughter she has is my brother's
stepdaughter, Alyssa, and she was 3 before Tim met her mother, so
Mom missed out on all that fun. And I'm 48, way past giving
her any.
KO> I did do some of that last-minute stuff today, though. Irene has
KO> needed a new swimming suit for quite some time, but I just don't like
KO> any I've seen - too revealing for a little girl to wear. Sunday night
I know. Why can't they let little girls be little girls? They
are going to grow up and give their parents fits of anxiety too
soon anyhow, why rush things so?
KO> Now I want to know: since I made that suit especially to fit this
KO> child, why does she keep pulling it down from her rear end? I know
KO> the suit is plenty long enough - must be an old habit... :) - Kathy
Maybe she remembers how it fit before you enlarged it...hehehe!
*My* suit is quite old and saggy, but I still do that myself. It
has become a bad habit.
Tom keeps hitching his up and swears he's going to wear his
suspenders with it (can't you see that? ) He's lost
over 55 pounds the past 3 years and needs a new suit but he
doesn't like the newer styles either. So it's not just a
little-girl problem!
Finding one for me isn't fun, either. I guess I'll see if Omar
the Tentmaker is free to make me one. I tried the local
Tent & Awning company but they were booked solid till the circus
season's over.
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
