I rang them up actually, to report the non-ANSI things in it, and
they were interested in getting them, but wanted a fax or email.
I asked them if they had a fidonet address, but they didn't. Do
you feel like passing these comments on to the internet address
or shall I fax them?
Problems with Pacific C version 7.45 regarding ANSI/ISO conformance
missing errno.h
strtol missing from stdlib.h
(*) cannot initialize automatic arrays
(*) requires calls by function pointer to have * in front
mktime is missing from time.h
SEEK_* macros missing from stdio.h
FILENAME_MAX missing from stdio.h
(*) I am happy to modify my source to get around these particular
problems.
Note that public domain code for strtol() and mktime() can be
obtained by FREQing "PDPCLIB" from 3:711/934. Also try
FTP to www.closer.brisnet.org.au in the pdomain directory.
IB> PS I use a registered version which also has a command line compiler (as
IB> well as a manual). I downloaded the shareware version by FTP from
IB> ftp.hitech.com.au to show others what it can do.
My intention was to start shipping my code with the ability to
compile using the project file with Pacific C, so that everyone
in the world can recompile my stuff for DOS using it, and using
EMX for OS/2 stuff. I was then going to register my version of
it. However, I am not able to compile my stuff using it without
patching the compiler! Which is what I have been doing whilst
compiling MSGED/SQ, but MSGED/SQ also uses some non-ISO things,
which are missing from Pacific C (which is MSGED/SQ's fault), but
it means I'm going to have to do a bit of work on that!
BFN. Paul.
