Why not use a different compiler? EMX 0.9b is a 32-bit DOS-extended,
ISO-conforming compiler. You may also be able to use LSI-C, available
for FREQ from 3:711/934. There is another one around which I don't
have, Hitech C.

And why is that? FREQ ANSI_C.* from 3:711/934 and you will get a copy
of the ANSI C draft, which is basically identical to ISO/IEC 9899:1990.
I am very interested to know what you think is wrong with ANSI_C.*. I
