Nice to make your aquaintance here!  Sounds like you need to get back on
the air my friend!  I don't get on the air as much as I used to. I check
into the ATNM (Alabama Traffic Net Mike) when I get the chance.

I did make a contact on 40m tonight with a gentleman in Little
Rock,Arkansas. I was testing a used ICOM 737.  Got it used and wanted to
make sure it worked like it's supposed to.  Worked fine!  Signal was 15
over on Harry in AR and he was riding at 5/9 on my S-meter.

Maybe you can get back on the air soon...send that radio off to be fixed or
just order up another one...new or used.
