The closest thing we have to a Confederate flag is the Eureka flag
- white Southern Cross on blue - which commemorates the Eureka Stockade
miners rebellion in the 1800s. It would probably offend someone if used
in a Christmas pageant, but is a symbol used by both the Left & the
Right. Tomorrow (Sunday), the local motor bike riders conduct their
annual "Toy Run", where they collect toys for giving to poor children,
riding in convoy from the beach to the hills. It is always well
received, despite the "redneck" image of some of the riders. Most
of them are fairly big-hearted, if on the outlaw fringes of society.

There are a couple of forces at work, noticeably in the USA, and less
noticeably here - the "Reconstructionists" /
"Dominionists", who believe
Christians are obligated to "take dominion" over all aspects of society
in order to make the world right for Christ to return - and the Jews
& Noachides who seek to implement Noachide laws & courts, establish
Sanhedrin etc, in order to facilitate the appearance of "Moshiach".

As you say, they will have that evil form during Jacob's Trouble,
first when the Beast turns on the Harlot and burns her flesh, &
then when he seeks to destroy Israel and the Jews.

Yes, if one "obeys the noachide laws", then as a bonus, one will be
rewarded with a form of eternal life - if one fails, then they will
not be punished eternally, merely die. I like the pun, BTW.

From what I can see, the ACLU will also take on causes where Christians
are being oppressed or discriminated against, just as they will oppose
singing Christmas carols etc. Australia doesn't have the same formal
Constitutional bar of separation of Church & State, so we don't have
the same battles over Ten Commandments on public land, prayers in schools
etc etc. Parliament opens with a prayer calling on God to "vouchsafe his
blessing" on its deliberations, but then they get down to the personal
attacks & general mayhem that goes with governing the country. I'd hate
to see them start passing laws honoring Lubavitcher Rebbes & seeking
to use Noachide laws as the basis of governance.
