You might be right - trouble is I haven't yet used a flash drive and I'm not
up to speed with how USB treats such drives compared to the 'coventional'
IDE hard drive interface.
For example do the PIO and DMA modes apply to flash drives as they do via
the conventional IDE interface?
My line of thinking here is to get a handle on what proportion of system
resources (and processor time) would be used and how they would be handled
when linked together (for flash drives).
