Actually, most white women who think this way are usually
spoiled and not products of "evildoers". This then requires
them to seek out evildoers in order to rationalize themselves.
Why do you think Parg hangs out here so much? :-)
I'm reminded of Madonna's song "Material Girl":
"Experience has made me rich and now they're after me!!!!"
"Because everybody's living in a material world!"

The fact is that there are plenty of self-absorbed career
women who spend their entire 20's doing precisely what she
advocates without having to hear her guide them. They
get a nice job and blow the money on world travel
and making them "experienced". I know because I dated them.
They could go on and on about their trips to Peru
or shopping in Harrods.
But the fact is that none of this made them good wives when
they needed to settle down later. (Remember, they
were desperate enough to date me. :-)
If the guy is world traveled, he doesn't need a woman "showing
him up". Men don't find "experienced" women attractive.
They find them "used". If he isn't world traveled,
what good does this do him? He'll feel intimidated
or she'll find him ignorant.
The myth that's continually repackaged and regurgitated to
these women is that "secure" men are turned on by "worldly"
women who've spent their life being a playgirl. This
would be similar to the beer company commercials that
had women turned on to men who drank lots of beer
and watched sports. :-)

The Martha Stewart homemakers. :-)
I have a colleague (whose a selfish bastard, seriously) who
was approached by a career woman who desired to become
a homemaker. He slammed the door (figurately) in her face.
In other words, many women will have to work to get those
options they took for granted before.

That was the intent. What they didn't count on was that
they would have battles between the factions. The "mommy
wars". Married working women have different interests
than single mothers versus single women who don't
want kids altogether. Also, all of these women now
have their interests competing with the rest of the other
special interest groups in the Democratic party that
are no longer content to just be sympathy exploits.

One would argue that the two are related.
I went to her website. Did you? It's hilarious. She
complains that after snubbing all of the men through a personals
website for arbitrary reasons, the guy she wound up
with who went through all of her hurdles was lame on the
date.
A "social" person should be able to manage people effectively
(for their sake and hers). If she has so many skills
that allows her to condescend to people, then she
shouldn't feel a need to condescend to them in the first place!

Oh, you got to that point. Indeed, as many people pointed out
to Dowd, the working class traditional women are the ones
who busybee themselves making contacts.

Indeed. Dowd probably was happy as a clam until maybe 5 years
ago when all the loserboys stopped begging her for time.

Kind of hard to do today with many foreign women being told
that they're entitled to respect for their cultures.

That reminds me: I promised to show my wife how to make a killer
homemade wine cooler:
1 bottle german rhine wine
1 bottle ginger ale
1 bottle squirt (yes, SQUIRT!)
4 limes
1 can concentrated orange juice (pulpy!)
Toss it all into a big soup pot and mix and then
reseal into the containers above.
Tasty and cheap!

Ironically, if this prince charming did appear, this woman
would dump all of her bittergirl friends in 10 seconds flat. :-)
