Howdy, Chris!
Let's listen in on what Chris Horn muttered to Jeff Edmonson
BB> However, is it possible to use these ports to back up my hard
BB> drive?
JE> There's supposed to be a way to back up with a Video Tape. I'd
JE> like more info on that!
CH> Oh please, get serious! ;-)
I AM! I've heard of people who acutally pulled info OFF of the tape,
too!
CH> We checked these things out in our VCR-repair-office with perfectly
CH> setup VCRs and:
CH> - they backup perfectly, all data seems in to be in great shape even
CH> on tape, BUT
CH> - we were under absolutely no circumstances able to restore these
CH> data in any way - not even a part of it
Maybe it was a difference in voltages and NTSC standards from here to
there?
CH> And, phoning with the manufacturer, we soon found out he knew this
CH> problem... :-(((
CH> Get your hands off and save your money!
I'm not the one that's going to be making a backup anytime soon with
Video tapes.
the Original question has some merit, though - a DAT tape to backup
with...
