On the other paw, one can look at it from this perspective:  There ARE
people out there doing good, and these shows only show a small portion of
the good being done for animals.  There are "safe" animal shelters (where
animals are not euthanized), puppy and kitty rescue shelters, bird rescue
sactuaries, and more all across the country.  I wouldn't get riled up (I
can't see the shows because we don't have cable); I would have great hope!

About as staggering a number as of those people who are unspeakably cruel
to other people.  We see the bad because it's publicized precisely because
it IS bad; the good more often goes unheralded.
