Hello Marc! 09 Apr 04 21:35, you wrote to Thom LaCosta: ML> It's not frustrating for me, Thom. _Annoying_ would be a better ML> descriptor. I route mail for several SysOps that send you updates. I ML> route them as Direct as I do for my own updates. I don't think having ML> to send updates via E-Mail should _have_ to be an option. With all ML> due respect, I think your modem should be answering the line - not ML> your answering machine. Marc lets step back and examine this.. What I am about to say is pertinent to my setup, I cannot speak for Thoms, as his may not be the case, but I do know that many sysops have chosen a similiar setup. I know longer have a separate physical data line for my mailer, like I used to.. With only one data call a day, the cost of maintaining it was no longer justifiable. Instead I use my voice line with a distinctive Ring phone number, used in conjunction with a piece of equipment that routes the call to the modem if a particular ring pattern is detected. I also have voice mail with the phone company that kicks in after 6 rings. If for whatever reason the mailer machine doesnt answer the call, guess what, you would get my voice mail.. I am not saying this setup is what Thom has.. == Ross ICQ: 5305939 | YAHOO: Kingoffido E-Mail: rcassell [at] mailblocks [dot] com If A Democrat Found GOD, Richard Clarke Is Jesus! ...
