RS>handheld Pro-51...question: do you know of any mod's for this radio? so
far
I understand that on some models, some higher frequencies are
restorable. Since the PRO-51 is a higher-end radio, I gather that
many of the PRO-2004/2005/2006/34/etc. modifications are applicable.
Since I have a 2004 and 2006, I really have no need yet to rummage
round in the 51's innards. The only reason I use it is to keep
track of police and fire calls while I'm on the road so I can
rush immediately to the scene and get in the way. Heh heh. No,
actually I use it to stay OUT OF THE WAY. There have been numerous
occasions when I've had five or six blocks advance notice of a
fire run and could make alternate route plans.
You're not going to be able to restore the 200 MHz freqs, because
they're not "missing" as the 800 MHz frequencies are. They're not
programmed or built in. The other frequencies are "bypassed" with
a diode or resistor, depending on the brand of radio. They were
built or designed before it became illegal to listen.
