With a new CD called UBCD4WINDOWS, any ntfs JP> system can be seen by DOS. My mind is on a one track....DOS. It certainly isn't because I would like it to, because I'm still using pretty much pure DOS. But, I've been told by my Wizard that in 2108 the FAT file system on which DOS is based will cease to function. Before that, in 2038, the C programs that use the Unix time functions (ie anything that depends on time, written in C) will stop working. That one is 1980 + 128... an unfortunately built in flaw. The programmers among us can explain that more fully probably... but that's about as much as I understand about it. :) 2038 isn't all that far from now, but somehow I don't think that any of us will be around to see the demise of DOS in 2108. :) ttyl neb ... I've amnesia and deja-vu together. I think I've forgotten this before ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.20 --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: ::The Holodeck BBS:: telnet://holodeck.myip.us (1:261/1381) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/250 300 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 633/104 260 262 267 285 690/682 734 712/848 SEEN-BY: 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 261/1381 38 633/260 267 |
