    Where does it get the original 'starting' serialno from? Is it stored
in a file or generated each time the editor is run?

    Jelly-Bean generates a serialno on every execution, then increments for
every message exported. You will only have problems if you happen to export
something like 10 messages, enter a new one, and re-run Jelly-Bean --
within 10 seconds.
