I have never been able to find Malachy's predictions in printed form,
but had the impression that John Paul II was the penultimate Pope,
according to Malachy. Your explanation in another echo shed a bit of
light on the version at the URL below.

Whether he is accurate or not, it would seem to be about the right time
frame. My expectation of the next Pope (or two?) would be that he joins
with the political & economic rulers of the [Western] world to speed up
the swing to the Right, and impose religious obligations and oppressions
on the people, as per Revelation 17. That Pope may well see the "Holy
Roman Church" and the city of seven hills destroyed, by the Antichrist
that it plays the harlot with.
