Saturday was Marti's wedding shower.  We did have fun, but it was also
madness because Elizabeth only had a couple hours of sleep (she works
nights and didn't get home Saturday morning until about 3 a.m.).  And we
had to get all the foodstuffs and all over to Marti's apartment complex,
where the shower was.  I rented the party room there, and it's very nice,
with lots of nice furniture and tables and a kitchen complete with stove
and fridge, and it was very reasonable, too.

So we got a bit of a late start.

But it was fun.  One thing, Marti's maid of honor, who lives in
Pennsylvania, flew down to attend.  Marti did not know that she was going
to be here, and it was a nice surprise.  

For another, we had good food and fun activities.  The main activity went
over much better than I thought it would.  We had everyone bring an old
sock.  Elizabeth brought glue guns and a small plastic tub of all sorts of
things -- pipe cleaners, small patches, pins, plastic and metal animals
(very small), sequins, buttons, just a whole bunch of stuff.  

And we made sock puppets.  It was hilarious. Everyone had big fun doing it,
and the results were quite creative.  It was play therapy and apparently we
all needed it!  Heeheehee.

I do have to say, though, that I'll be glad when the wedding is all over,
and things can return to normal.

Or, at any rate, to less abnormal than this!
