I have never understood how some Christians can't see the separation in this clause:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.."

How can one misinterpret that to think Christians founded America as a
Christian country?  Interestingly enough my very Jewish family came in 1628
from the Netherlands to New Amsterdam. Many early colonists were Jews. Lots
and lots of Christians seem to believe that only Christians came here from
the Old World, one even came with Columbus.
