   That is what I use and what I was referring to.   It is not obsolete,
   and works just fine in batch files etc.  In fact, the "more modern"
   winzip versions don't work as well in a batch file.

   What you say is not consistent with what the program says.  It says
   that if you register it you get a comprehensive printed manual,
   latest versions, and discounts on upgrades for other platforms
   besides DOS.  Registration is required for commercial use but not for
   personal use.
