->I went to transfer a tag (license plate to you ->yankees and Canadians) from our dead Omni to a newer vehicle we acquired and ->was told that the state "preferred" that I sell the Omni before transferring That is weird. Even Massachusetts, bastion of liberalism and red tape, has a transfer procedure. It's used commonly for a winter car/summer car situation. I have to wonder if there's some thought to preventing junk cars from accumulating? And heck, you could always sell it to Linda. ->Stoopid stuff... Always.. You should have seen the hoops I had to jump through to register the AMC. In the end, all I needed was a copy of the previous Rhode Island registration. RI doesn't require titles for cars over about 15 years old. So, in lieu of a title, a copy of the old registration was required. I went to the RI registry, paid some nominal sum, and got the copy. The previous owner didn't have anything to do with it. As you said, stoopid stuff. -c- --- ViaMAIL!/WC v1.60d* Origin: Chowdanet (401-331-0615) telnet://chowdanet.com (1:323/120) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 323/120 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
