Anyway...
I got my SDK on the last Friday of August. 95meg install (ouch). I know
I promised I'd make a QWK reader, but that'll have to wait a while. So
far the only UI I know how to make is UI that's always there no matter
what. For my first program I made a Mixer controller for the
SoundBlaster card. I sent out a beta 2 days ago (Monday). I sent it to
comp.binaries.geos, but it hasn't appeared yet. That version was an
application. I found a few bugs in Motif, so it's messing up my sliders.
Right now I'm in the process of converting it to a Preferences Module.
I just about finished, except I have one little problem that's
preventing Preferences from showing my module, so I can't test it just
now. But it worked as an app.
It'll be a while before I can make the QWK reader for a few reasons.
These are the problems I can think of now:
1) QWK files are really zips (or possibly other format archives), and
there is no GEOS decompressor
2) QWK packets contain about 8+ files, but the GEOS Document system is
designed for working with documents that are only one file
3) I'm having trouble thinking up a good interface for it
Records that I've probably set:
Youngest GEOS developer - 14 years old (15 on 9/5)
Fastest release of a program after getting SDK - 57 hours (beta version,
the bugs weren't even in my code)
I had commented on being the youngest to Clemens Kochinke and he said
the second one (and also said I probably set more)
