       No, FidoNet is free.  The charges you mentioned are those of the phone
companies (or whatever is used to transfer the mail), not FidoNet charges.
Here in Region15, we use the Internet to transfer packets into and out of our
region, and the REC takes care of the Internet account costs for us.
