Or how about this: Open the computer, short the battery with a paper clip or
a piece of tin foil, wait 2 seconds for the NiCd/NiMh battery to explode, and
run as fast as you can to the nearest doctor.
You should *never* short a NiCd/NiMh battery! They have a very low internal
resistance, and are quite likely to overheat and explode if treated this way.
Even if the battery survives, the paper clip will probably become red hot by
the current, causing 1st or 2nd degree burns to the persons fingers.
