 I don't know about liberals, but we Democrats made that our
 credo very long ago. We were the ones who kept coming up with
 job training programs, which conservatives shot down.

 The Great Society was a jobs based program, which the right has
 denounced ever since it was proposed.

 There is very little in welfare reform that was not long ago
 proposed by democrats, only the right made a point of doing it
 badly.
